Dimapur, Nov. 7: Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton on Wednesday paid an unannounced visit to the ongoing Botsa-Wokha two-lane road construction site along NH-2 to inspect progress of the much-needed project.
Patton, who is also in-charge of National Highways, interacted with the project in-charge of D K Engineering Consortium Private Limited Firm, General Manager Ajay Kumar. The minister urged the firm to complete the road widening and construction work early, saying that the NH-2 was one of the major highways and economic lifeline to many districts in the state and that people are facing hardships due to the pathetic road.
Kumar assured the deputy CM that the firm would complete the construction of the road within three years since the work commenced. He added that the project, which started excavation work on December 7 2017, would be completed before December 6 2020. The road project from Botsa under Kohima district to Wokha town covers 32.4km.
