Book publishing course uderway in Imphal
Imphal, May 29 (EMN): A seven-day long certificate course in book publishing was organised at the mini conference hall of the Tribal Research Institute at Chingmeirong in Imphal. The course was organised and sponsored by the National Book Trust (NBT), the ministry of Human Resource Development. The training officer of the course Narender Kumar spoke about the main objective of the course. He said, ‘the course was to enhance the skills of those who want to explore the world of publishing books right from the editorial to copy rights.’ The initiative was taken up as part of the central government’s skill development, he added.
Professor GS Jolly of New Delhi gave a talk on the editorial while another resource person Sridhar Balan presented lecture about the overview of publishing. Kalyan Banerjee, the chief production officer of the National Council of Educational Research and Training will present a comprehensive lecture on desigining on May 30. Around 70 trainees who are working in diverse fields were said to have been participating at the book publishing course. The weeklong course which was inaugurated on May 28 will culminate on June 4.
