Kohima, June 29 (EMN): A book launch of “Being and Time” written by Pongom Lam was officially released by S Chonta, NPSC member at Ura restaurant, near Red Cross Building in Kohima on Friday.
Lam is the son of Peshing Lam from Noklak village, under Tuensang district. He received his BA degree (History honours) from St Joseph college, Jakhama and obtained his MA from IGNOU. The author had also released a book earlier titled “The Hardship of Life”.
The book “Being and Time” is written in an easy way to understand manner and gives the clues about how to live a better life, said Lam.
The author said he wanted to spread the message of hope and courage through the book by encouraging the readers that there is no such thing as ‘useless or losers’, and also try to impart a method of facing failures in a constructive manner through positive thinking and self-reflections.
“The book is a philosophy that allows people to succeed in any situation, making its philosophy your own strength; you will clearly visualise a path to success opening before you,” said Lam.
Meanwhile, NPSC member Chonta, lauded Pongom Lam for his dedication and further encouraged the author to continue working hard for the betterment of the future. Calling Lam as a special talent, Chonta expressed hope that the book will be a source of information for every young reader and inspire others to write.
Besides, while pointing out that Peshing Lam is one of the first from among the Khiamnuigan tribe to release a book, Chonta called upon the other young educated Khaiamniugans to involve in writing ‘because writing is learning’.
