Bokakhat Police nab one in Rowel Ronghang murder case

DIPHU — The Bokakhat Police has arrested one suspect in connection with the Rowel Ronghang murder case. The apprehended person has been identified as one Durlab Deka from Koilaghat, under the jurisdiction of the Bokakhat police station in Golaghat district.

According to the police, on that fateful night, the suspect was present near the location. They also suspect that the murder was not carried out by a single person and that some timber smugglers from the Bokakhat area may also be involved.

The police has assured the public that no culprit will be spared.

It should be noted that the residents of Duarbagori and surrounding areas have been protesting, demanding immediate action. The protestors have stated that they will resume their agitation on Monday to exert pressure on the authorities to take swift action.

Meanwhile, the Karbi Students’ Union (KSU) has expressed gratitude to John Das, Additional Superintendent of Police, Golaghat, and Bitupon Borah, Officer-in-Charge of the Bokakhat police station, for their prompt action.
