The company commander of 19 Assam Rifles Captain H.S.Liddar declared the week long sports and games of Baptist Mission School opened in a colorful opening ceremony on March 31in the Centenary compound of Jotsoma Baptist Church.
In his inaugural speech as the chief guest, Capt.H.S.Liddar encouraged the students to look inward and realize their potentials to develop them. He emphasized that sports and games are the integral parts of education and that it strengthens physical and mental abilities. Children become more disciplined through sports and it also contributes to their studies.The colorful inaugural function started with the invocation prayer by Kerriezono, assistant Headmistress of the school. The welcome address was delivered by the Headmaster of the school, V.J.Thomas and vote of thanks was proposed by
Arenla Nagi.
Baptist Mission School Education Board Chairman, board members, other dignitaries, teachers and parents were entertained by special numbers and action songs by the students.
