Blue Star Cricket Club lift 3rd T20 Cricket Championship
DIMAPUR, MAY 22: BLUE Star Cricket Club lifted the running championship trophy after defeating last year’s champion P Vihoto XI in the final. The 3rd edition of T20 Cricket Championship was organized by the youth department of Viyito Baptist Church which concluded on Friday last.
“Cricket is a sport played all over the world. It is a sport of fame and money and therefore anyone who aspires to become good cricketers should make use of such events as a stepping stone to show their talents and take themselves to higher level events.” This was stated by BJP president 4thGhaspani Arsapa Chophi while addressing the closing ceremony as the guest of honor.
Arsapa also reminded the cricketers that “anyone who indulges in drugs and alcohol will never be successful in the field of games and sports”.
Bishnu of P. Vihoto XI was adjudged as the player of the tournament while Pawan Chettri of P. Vihoto XI emerged as highest wicket taker. The Champions walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 along with trophy and certificates while the runner-up team received Rs. 12,500. Altogether 20 teams from all over Dimapur district participated in the event.
