The blood donation was organised as part of NSS special camp of Don Bosco College, Kohima, which began in Chedema village on May 1. Commandant of 93 Battalion BSF, Surinder Singh, along with 15 personnel donated their blood with great enthusiasm in the noble cause and contributed towards community development. Surinder Singh stated that 93 Battalion BSF would continue to associate itself with local inhabitants in such initiatives to build better co-operation and understanding. He added that BSF is committed for building better social environment with the local inhabitants in its area of deployment, which in turn would help in building a good atmosphere of mutual trust and respect among the local population. During the NSS special camp, volunteers would carry out activities such as cleanliness drive, care for the aged, helping at the widows farm, blood donation camp, creating awareness on health and hygiene, kids outing and cultural night. The NSS special camp is being supported by NEPED, BSF Chedma, State NSS cell, State disaster management authority, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, and department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change.
