BJP will complete full term, says Kropol
KOHIMA — Advisor of Prison, Printing and Stationery, Kropol Vitsu, on Friday rubbished speculations that that Congress would come to power before the BJP government complete its full term.
He stated this during the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Nagaland (BJYM) state executive meeting at BJP state head office in Kohima. Vitsu reminded the party youth to reflect on post-independence times where the two first state general elections were boycotted due to the Naga issue under the Congress regime.
He recalled how Jawaharlal Nehru deployed military forces in Nagaland to suppress the dissent, which resulted in untold miseries and atrocities, particularly targeting the Naga people.
He criticised the Congress party for those actions, pointing out that the Nagas were unaware of the realities during the Congress regime and suffered harassment despite not committing any mistake.
He claimed that under PM Modi, previously ‘blocked projects like the Dimapur-Kohima National Highway 39 were reopened and a ceasefire agreement was signed in 2015 with various underground factions, reducing the problems faced by the people with the army.
Vitsu highlighted that while ‘Nagas were previously afraid of the army and underground factions, the peace accord and the ongoing Naga solution have brought about a sea of change, though some issues with anti-social elements remained.’
He urged the youth to educate the people at the grassroots to understand the realities, countering blind propaganda especially on social media.
Vitsu spoke about the need for proactive participation and encouragement from the people to secure better projects for the state. He assured that despite rumours, the alliance between the state government under CM Neiphiu Rio and the BJP is strong and will continue to work for the development of Nagaland.
He urged BJYMN and BJP members to prepare for the 2028 general election, emphasizing the importance of countering allegations promptly and effectively.
Arvind Damani, BJYM national executive member, highlighted the significant initiatives taken under the leadership of their party president and emphasised the importance of sharing ideas to advance youth development.
Damani acknowledged the challenges posed by the ongoing monsoon season but stressed the responsibility of the youth to address community issues, reinforcing their commitment to service and sacrifice, especially during natural disasters.
He emphasised that as the largest youth political organisation in the world, BJYM members hold significant responsibility.
‘Today’s youth are not just leaders of tomorrow; they are leaders of today, as evidenced by the young politicians emerging from the organisation,’ he said.
Damani also apprised on the preparations for ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in celebration of Independence Day including the different assignments and responsibilities for the party youth. He urged all the members to actively participate in the efforts to serve the public, regardless of political standing.
A statement later issued by Hinoka A Chophi, BJYM state president, expressed confidence that Modi 3.0 would work towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
Nagaland BJYM also congratulated the BJP led NDA government at the central for winning the 18th Lok Sabha.
The BJYM also assured to support the leadership of Benjamin Yepthomi, State
BJP president in taking the party forward to greater heights.
