Kohima, May 15 (EMN): The ST Morcha of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nagaland unit distributed more than 100 food packets to frontline workers in and around Kohima town on Saturday.
Earlier, the state BJP had informed that ST Morcha would be launching a one-time meal to frontline workers from May 15 onwards throughout Nagaland, beginning with the state capital.
State co-chief spokesperson of BJP Nagaland, Nini Cheng had informed that they had been receiving donations from well-wishers and party workers towards the initiative.
The ST Morcha team distributed about 110 food packets to healthcare workers, traffic police personnel, and Kohima district administration staff in and around the Kohima town on Saturday, Cheng informed.
The launch of the "one-time meal a day" service to the frontline workers of Kohima district was conducted in the presence of OC South police station, Neizhalie K, who expressed gratitude and welcomed the initiative.
The service was launched by the state chief spokesperson and in-charge of ST Morcha, Kuputo Shohe, accompanied by state’s spokesperson W Ngampa Konyak who prayed for the week-long service.
The ST Morcha Nagaland further extended their gratitude to the frontline workers for their selfless service.
It may be mentioned that BJP Nagaland has been undertaking several activities under the banner "Seva Hi Sangathan" (Organisation is four service) since the pandemic outbreak started last year. The party informed that it has distributed 3,34,650 food packets to the public so far.
