Dimapur, June 20 (EMN): In the backdrop of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) chief Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu recently giving his legislators the freedom to “explore possibilities” of forming government, the state’s unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has openly rejected any possibility of the two parties coming together.
This public rejection was contained in a press release issued by the BJP on Thursday. Rejecting speculations on social media platforms about a reshuffle in the PDA government, the BJP stated that the “PDA wall standstill against intrusion” much to the disappointment of its political rivals.
The BJP’s victory at the Centre has “re-ignited” hopes among its rivals of a possible entry into the government, it stated. “However, much to their disappointment, their attempt to enter into the government through the backdoor had failed miserably.
“After ill-fated attempt to dislodge PDA government, it had become a habit for opposition party to spread vicious rumours and cheap propagandas about PDA in social medias (sic). Nevertheless, all these attempts to demean PDA are only bonding PDA houses stronger than ever,” it stated.
The BJP dismissed Liezietsu’s recent directive as “cheap propaganda”; and regretted that one of the country’s oldest regional parties could stoop so low out of desperation.
It also informed that the PDA leadership including Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, ministers Temjen Imna Along and Mestubo Jamir, and others were currently in New Delhi to congratulate the new government as well as discuss various issues concerning the state.
