Dimapur, April 8

Dimapur division of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appealed the Chief Election Commissioner to initiate necessary action against Congress MLA Imtikumzun for his alleged inflammatory speech as per the election code of conduct.
The Dimapur unit BJP president, Nikhevi K Yeputho, alleged that the Congress MLA, during a Congress party meeting at Ungma village under Mokokchung district on April 4, reportedly told that this Lok Sabha election is not a contest between Neiphiu Rio and KV Pusa but between Christian and Hindu religion. While urging the competent authority to initiate necessary action, he said such immature inflammatory speech was seriously viewed by the BJP Nagaland. While countering NPCC allegations on BJP as a communal party and anti-Christian, he has accused the Congress of trying to get vote through communal card and anti-Christian issues. He has also accused the Congress of playing only vote bank politics without any democratic norms and practices which creates division among the minority classes and religion.
He has advised NPCC not to mislead Naga people adding that it cannot fool the Nagas like in the past many decades. On the contrary, he said BJP being a national political party is supported by every section of Indian population without bias of religion, caste or community. He said BJP is supported by Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Sikhs.
