DIMAPUR — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland state staged a protest rally against the controversial remarks made by the chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, Sam Pitroda, at Old Daily Market in Dimapur on Friday.

It may be mentioned here that Sam Pitroda had compared Indians from different parts to Chinese, Arabs, whites and Africa while talking about diversity and democracy of the nation during an interview with certain media outlets.

During the protest rally, BJP workers displayed placards some of which read “BJP integrates, Congress disintegrates,” “Congress- Look East, BJP – Act East, Act Fast, Act First”

Speaking at the protest rally, the president of BJP Dimapur district, Imchainba Jamir, asserted that they had gathered to condemn the racist comments made by the Congress party.

“Let us not follow those putting on sheep coat in disguise and follow the footstep of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and move forward with the nation, Jamir said.

Meanwhile, the state BJP spokesperson and media in-charge, Mughavi Chishi, mentioned that the BJP’s goal was to unite and integrate India. He accused the Congress party of trying to disintegrate India by sowing division through racist remarks.

Chishi further asserted that as Indians, they were committed in maintaining their identity and unity and would firmly oppose any efforts to disintegrate the nation.
