DIMAPUR — Benjamin Yepthomi, the state BJP president, has expressed gratitude to the electorate for participating in the democratic process by voting on April 19 for Nagaland’s sole Lok Sabha seat.

In a note of appreciation shared on X following the day of voting, Yepthomi expressed that their participation in democracy’s largest festival is the cornerstone and true essence of the democratic foundation.

“Your decision to exercise your voting rights not only fulfils your civic duty but also plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our state and our great country, India,” he wrote, adding that democracy flourishes when citizens participate in the electoral process, and their presence at the polling stations exemplified the strength of the country’s democratic framework.

Reminding the people that voting is not just a privilege but a responsibility that all must cherish and uphold, he said that it is through people’s collective action of voting that they empower their leaders to work towards progress and prosperity for all.

“Thank you for exercising your voting rights and for contributing to the resilience of our democracy. Let us continue to uphold democratic values and strive together towards a brighter future for Nagaland and our nation as a whole,” he concluded.
