BJP Nagaland launches a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday and highlight his public service journey.
KOHIMA — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday and his 25 years as a constitutional head on Thursday at the party’s state head office in Kohima.
Addressing a press conference, Advisor for Prisons, Printing and Stationery, Kropol Vitsu, announced that the party would observe a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17. The campaign will see BJP workers resolve to serve the people, guided by the mantra “Jan Seva Hi Prabhu Seva” (Service to humanity is service to God).
Vitsu stated that the occasion also marks a significant milestone, as Modi is set to complete 25 uninterrupted years in public service as a constitutional head on October 7.
He added that the BJP traditionally celebrates the Prime Minister’s birthday as ‘Seva Pakhwada’ (Service Fortnight) every year.

He said that for every loyal BJP worker, politics is not a tool for power but a medium for service, reflecting the party’s guiding principle of “Seva Hi Sangathan” (Service is organisation).
Highlighting the achievements of the Prime Minister’s leadership, Vitsu cited the lifting of 25 crore people out of poverty, provision of free rations to 80 crore citizens, bringing 100 crore people under social security schemes, and administering more than 200 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses.

He described these as significant accomplishments, along with various programmes and schemes aimed at improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
Vitsu further highlighted India’s development in the space and transport sectors, stating that the country now has more than 400 space startups, compared to one in 2014.
He also cited railway modernisation, dedicated freight corridors, the introduction of Vande Bharat trains, and the doubling of airports as indicators of what he described as a “New India.”
He said Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) is reflected in the guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” which emphasises participation and progress for all.
“His journey from a grassroots worker to the ‘Pradhan Sevak’ (Prime Servant) of the country proves that if the vision is clear and the resolve is strong, a positive transformation can be brought into the lives of ordinary citizens,” Vitsu said.
He added that collective work, character and participation could contribute to building a prosperous, inclusive, confident and developed India by 2047.
