Dimapur, Feb. 28 (EMN): The six BJP Mokokchung party members, who were recently served a show cause notice for seeking replacement of Nagaland BJP party president Temjen Imna Along, have on Sunday clarified their stance with regard to the issue.

A statement issued through the BJP Mokokchung media cell stated that the six officials namely, Nukshi I Ozukum, T Nukshi Jamir, Watitemsu, Lanuyanger Longkumer, Tekanungla and Alepla Chang, had no ‘malice against anyone’ and their intention was to “enable the BJP functioning in the district more smoother by replacing the incumbent BJP Nagaland state president .”

It claimed that the BJP Mokokchung district president Imolemba Jamir, general secretary S Moa Imsong and district secretary Lanutoshi were also present during the meeting at the district office on February 22, “where the issue about the need to replace the state president was discussed threadbare for more than two hours”.

“It must be understood here that this issue had been festering since from the year 2020 and this issue is gravely hampering the functioning of the BJP Mokokchung district. As such, the district officials were asked to write down their names if they endorse the replacement of the incumbent state BJP president. The undersigned officials endorsed the decision to replace the state president,” read the statement.

It added that the press letter written to the BJP Nagaland in-charge was “self-explanatory,” where they had listed the relevant reasons for taking their stance on the issue.

“Very shockingly, when the undersigned officials went to attend the ‘emergency meeting’ called on February 26, we were unceremoniously asked to vacate the hall without giving us any chance to clarify about the developments in the party functioning,” it read.

It added that “everything was being done with the full knowledge of the BJP Mokokchung district officials”.
