DIMAPUR — The registration for the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Scheme for eligible potential beneficiaries is being facilitated at the BJP Office in Mokokchung, and it will continue till next week.

A press release from the district unit of the BJP noted that the PM Vishwakarma Scheme is an initiative by the Government of India to support and uplift artisans and craftsmen and that, along with the rest of the country, the BJP Mokokchung is also taking up the task of registering eligible beneficiaries in the district.

It is a flagship programme of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is supposed to be one of the largest employment schemes in the country. The press release added that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has allocated INR 13,000 crores for this scheme.

This scheme applies to all Indian families/citizens; however, only one member of each family can register as a beneficiary. At the same time, the beneficiary must not be a government employee or have a family member who works for the government. Furthermore, the beneficiary must not be a bank defaulter or a loanee of any bank.
