BJP Mokokchung district inducts new team

Dimapur, Dec. 9 (EMN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mokokchung district on Monday elected a new team of office-bearers who were later inducted during a formal ceremony held at the party’s office in Mokokchung district.

Apress statement from the media cell of BJP Mokokchung district informed that Imolemba Jamir is the new president; vice presidents -- Nukshi I. Ozukum, T Nukshi Jamir and Watitemsu; and general secretaries -- S Moa Imsong and Lanuyanger M Longkumer.

Four secretaries were also elected namely Alepla Chang, T Anungla, Lanuyanger Longkumer and I Lanutoshi Longkumer and Imtiwati is new treasurer.

The newly elected president said that he was "humbled at the trust and support by the Mokokchung BJP workers" and assured that he "would do and give his best to take the BJP, its aims and policies to a higher level so that the Naga people can also march at par with the rest of the nation.”

He also said that the party would reach out to "different social organisations of the Ao Naga people and work hand in hand so that the aspiration of the Ao people in Mokokchung district is achieved," emphasising on the minority communities in Mokokchung district and contributing to the "progress of the Mokokchung society."

He asserted that the "BJP is a political party, secular in nature and is aimed at the progress and development of the country." Stating that BJP respects all religions, he said that they would also have a "Bible which will lead the conscience of the party leaders and workers while championing the higher agenda of the BJP manifesto in the district," read the statement.
