Dimapur, July 31 (EMN): BJP Mokokchung district organised a grand Tsungremmong festival celebration at its office on July 30, which was attended by karyakartas from all over the district.
Tsungremmong is a premier pre-harvest festival of the Ao community. The festival is usually held in the month of August 1-3 every year. However, this year the BJP Mokokchung district decided to organise the Tsungremmong on July 30 so as to facilitate the karyakartas attend the main functions to be held from August 1 to the 3rd in different parts of the district and state, an update from BJP Mokokchung media cell.
The main highlight of the programme was ‘Tsungremmong Ratet’ (significance of Tsungremmong), which was delivered by Guru Sangyusang of Ungma village.
It stated that the state council member from BJP Mokokchung, Imnaonen Pongen, while speaking at the programme, challenged the gathering to be united and continue to work for the welfare of the people and the party in general. He urged the karyakartas not be swayed away by the political developments in the state, but to repose, recommit and stay strong with deep faith in the BJP leadership led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and BJP national president, JP Nadda.
He also welcomed the leaders from NDPP, who were formally introduced to the party at the meeting, and expressed confidence that their experience and political wisdom would take the BJP of Mokokchung to greater heights in the days to come.
Former NDPP vice president, who was also former BJP president of Mokokchung, Lipokyanger, also exhorted the gathering.
It stated the new members from the NDPP were presented with the BJP scarf as a symbol of their induction in the party.
The Tsungremmon gprogramme was sponsored by the state council members of BJP Mokokchung district.
