Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): As a noble gesture, Mokokchung unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) constructed a ‘sick room’ or ‘medical room’ at the Care and Support Children Home, an orphanage in Tsumarshiyong, some 15 kilometers away from Mokokchung town, on December 10.
The cabin was solely funded by the party district president, Imolemba Jamir, and the works was initiated by the BJP Mokokchung district. The cabin was constructed in one day, which was personally supervised by the BJP Mokokchung district, an update from BJP Mokokchung stated.
Speaking on the occasion, the managing director of Care and Support Society, a group operating the orphanage, Imchawati Kichu, has appreciated Imolemba Jamir and the BJP Mokokchung district for constructing the cabin. He added that it was the first time that an individual or an organisation has constructed a house for the orphanage.
Kichu also stated that the home was in dire need of a special cabin called ‘sick room’ for children.
He further added that the noble gesture of Imolemba Jamir would go a long way in mitigating the needs of the orphanage especially in times of sickness.
It mentioned that Care and Support Children Home was established in the year 2013 and it started functioning from 2016. At present, the orphanage has 14 children under its care.
