BJP Kohima members resign; support Rio
Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): BJP Kohima division office bearers and its frontals Mahila, Yuva, Kisan, Minority and the three mandals including 8 Western Angami, 10 Northern Angami-I, and 12 Tseminyu with all the units have resigned from the primary and active membership and decided to extend full support to three times chief minister and Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio.
In this connection, the BJP Kohima district leaders and its frontal officials along with three mandals and the units met Neiphiu Rio in Kohima on November 13 and extended their unflinching support.
A press release issued by resigned general secretary Seyiekhrielie Nagi has alleged the State BJP’s negligence in resolving the present crisis within BJP Kohima district over the expulsion of the district president Dr. Khriezovolie Kesiyie and the general secretary Seyiekhrielie Nagi.
It mentioned that on October 24, the officials and mandals had requested the State BJP to resolve the matter in the interest of the BJP and reconsider the unilateral and hasty decision taken by State BJP president Visasolie Lhoungu. It expressed regret that till date the State BJP leaders have not initiated any step to resolve the matter but rather involve in creating further misunderstanding and division among the BJP Kohima officials and the frontals.
While considering that there is no future under the leadership of State BJP president Visasolie Lhoungu, the officials have decided to resign en mass from the primary and active membership of the party.
