BJP eyes to form next govt in State

Dimapur, March 3 (EMN): Nagaland unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has adopted series of resolutions aimed at strengthening the party in the State and to work for the general welfare of all the citizens. The resolutions were adopted during the 4th BJP State Executive Meeting at Hotel Saramati on March 2 and 3.

It resolved to strive and strengthen the party in the State with focus on forming a BJP government in the State after the 2018 elections. It resolved reaching out to the people of the State at the grassroots to motivate that BJP is a political party firmly believing in the secular principles as enshrined in the constitution of India which guarantees freedom of religion to every citizen.

The party also resolved focussing on uplift of the weaker sections in the society and empowerment of women in line with the national slogan of “Sab ka saath, Sabka vikas” (“Together with all, Development of all”).
The party resolved to support the peace process initiated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi for an honourable settlement to the protracted Naga political problem which is acceptable to the Naga people and the Government of India and pave the way for peace and development for the people and the State.

State BJP also resolved to firmly and steadfastly work towards a corruption-free State in line with the clarion call given by the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, it urged the BJP leaders at the centre to take the State unit and the senior leaders into full confidence and to give proper information to the State unit whenever any functionary visits the state in order to strengthen the party particularly at this crucial juncture to successfully face the 2018 elections in the State. It also decided to urge the centre to appoint a guardian minister for Nagaland as there is no prabhari for Nagaland at present.

All the State executive members, permanent and special invitees participated in the meeting. The organising committee thanked every participant especially Khetoyi Shikhu, Associate Pastor of TVBC, Dimapur, for invoking God’s blessings and Longshi Jami and Ms. Henitoli Chisi for enthralling the delegates with their gifted voices.

The house reviewed reports from the districts, State frontals and State general secretaries and held discussions on party organisations and general issues facing the State.

The party also paid homage to two departed members namely Janlal Hansing, Karyakata of 1993 batch, and Sukato Sumi, founding member of BJP Atoizu under Zunheboto districts.

Meanwhile, it has directed district units to conduct the district executive meeting within seven days and submit the reports accordingly.
