Responding to the Congress party’s allegations that the BJP manifesto was ‘devoid of any reality,’ the BJP Nagaland has challenged the former to a debate.
Briefing media persons on Thursday at the BJP office in Dimapur, Sapralu Nyekha, convenor of BJP Nagaland media cell, alleged that there was no visible progress or development during the Congress regime.
“When the Congress wants to point fingers at us and call our vision document devoid of any truth, I challenge the Congress to bring out their manifesto for debate with us,” Nyekha said.
Women empowerment
Sharing about the BJP Nagaland vision document 2023, Nyekha stated that in an effort to empower women, they would introduce the Neidonuo Angami Women Welfare Scheme under which a bond of INR 50,000 would be provided on the birth of a girl child. She added that each female student would receive INR 3000 in class 6, INR 5000 in class 9, INR 7000 in class 11 and 12 respectively, and INR 2 lakh to unmarried female students after completing their graduation.
The party also envisioned to provide free-of-cost, quality education to all female students from KG to PG.
The party would initiate the Temsula Ao Empowerment Mission to encourage formation of more women SHGs and provide them with credit linkages.
It would also provide two LPG cylinder free-of-cost LPG to all Ujjwala beneficiaries every year and launch the CM free scooty scheme to provide free scooty to meritorious college-going female students.
Youth empowerment
BJYM state president, Hosheto Awomi, also shared the BJP manifesto for youth empowerment and some of the visions included. It aims to provide 2 lakh self-employment opportunities in the next 5 years through establishment of software technology parks, Agro processing, textiles, MSMEs, tourism and others.
He stated that the party would establish a digital India start-up hub in each district and establish a state testing agency which would conduct recruitment drives for government jobs in a transparent manner and ensure equal opportunity for all.
Among others, it would also conduct regular recruitment tests for the appointments of government staff at the grade 3 and grade 4 levels; establish Nagaland entrepreneurship development authority for training and promoting entrepreneurship in every district; provide free coaching to government aspirants in their preparation for the exams like UPSC, NPSC, SSC, banking and others; invest INR 500 crores to launch the Nagaland skill development university to train the youth; and invest INR 10 crore to promote indigenous sports and organise state-wide competitions
Kashito Kiba, spokesperson of BJP Nagaland, also highlighted about the major achievements of BJP in Nagaland including 15 national highway projects developed with a cumulative length of about 266 km at a cost of about INR 4,127 crore, INR 220 crores allocated for Nagaland for the development of tourist sites under the Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD Scheme from 2018-21, and many others.
Meanwhile, it was announced that Union Minister, Kiren Rijiju, and others will campaign for BJP candidates on February 17.
The party informed that Rijiju would attend a meeting at 44 Phomching AC and also address a public rally at Longwa public ground. He would also attend a meeting in 41 Tizit AC with minister Paiwang.
The union minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, along with the deputy chief minister, Y Patton, would also address public rallies in Wokha town and Mon town, while BJP general secretary, BL Santosh, would visit Tuensang, Mokokchung and Zunheboto districts.
