Binthu Newmai from Tening Circle has won the ultimate singing contest titled ‘Peren Voice Impact Season II,’ organized by the Peren District Music Society (PDMS) on October 29 which was held at the main town area in Peren town. Teulung Pame of Nsong Circle was declared runner-up of the contest.
Two sub-titles dubbed as Most Promising Artiste and Viewers Choice were conferred to Keyichitube Nza and Wipiwangbo Nring both from Peren Circle respectively.
SDO (C) Peren and chief guest of the event, D Robin, in his speech, appreciated the organizers for taking up a mammoth task to promote and provide platform to the budding talents of Peren district. While acknowledging the huge inherent pool of talents among the young people, he rued that those talents go wasted due to lack of right platform. The competition was purely judged by the panel of expert judges and not on voting, which was highly appreciated by all the parents and audience present.
The event was co-sponsored by Peter Lichamo, Deputy Commissioner, Peren; Imtimenla, Project Director of DRDA Peren; James Liezietsu, PS to Forest Minister; Paurang Rangkau, Head GB of Peren Town; Er. Ichirang Zeliang, SDO PHED Peren; Er. Asembe, SDO PWD (R&B) Peren; Daniel Hemang, DPO Peren; Rovilie Solo; Namnahei Nza; Sound King Jalukie; and G Strings Recording Studio, Dimapur.
