Bilateral relation: Indian army visits Bangladesh

[caption id="attachment_260402" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Indian army delegates interacting with Bangladesh army officers and High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh during their visit to Bangladesh.[/caption] Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): As part of soft power exchange programme and continuing high-level Defence cooperation between armed forces of India and Bangladesh, 15 Indian army officials along with their spouses visited Bangladesh from July 6 to 12th. Earlier, 25 couples of Bangladesh army had visited Delhi, Agra and Kolkata from November 26 to December 2 2018. “This is a significant milestone in the history of bilateral relations as this is first of its kind wherein 15 mid level officers of Indian army, accompanied by their spouses visited Bangladesh,” said PRO (Defence) Col C Konwer in a press release on Friday. During the visit, the team interacted with senior officers of Bangladesh army, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh and mid-level officers. Apart from various official engagements, the delegations also visited Bijoyketon Museum, National Parliament, Cox’s Bazar, Proyash, Liberation War Museum, and other places of cultural interests. “The visit was aimed to enhance military cooperation and people to people contact in the backdrop of our enriched common cultural heritage and will go a long way in enhancing co-operation and inter-operability between the two armies,” said Konwer.
