KHUZAMA — Former Congress candidate Meshenlo Kath said on Monday that the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra transcends mere politics and is a collective effort to fight injustice and unemployment in the country.

Interacting with Eastern Mirror upon the arrival of Rahul Gandhi at Khuzama village in Kohima for the yatra, Kath noted that the participation of social organisations and civil societies from various districts of Nagaland would be pivotal in the movement.

According to him, beyond the yatra, their broader agenda is to consistently advocate for public rights and pressure the state government to address issues like fund mismanagement.

Singling out unemployment as a major challenge, Kath urged government departments to share job vacancies and emphasised entrepreneurship among youth beyond just government jobs.

Kath, who is also the co-chairman of the Public Grievances Department of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, assured to keep working for people by raising issues affecting them and ensuring government funds reach intended beneficiaries without mismanagement.

Dil Nale-o, chairman of Khuzama Village Council, expressed joy at Gandhi’s presence for the yatra in their village. He extended prayers for the success of the endeavours and a safe journey ahead.

The campaign crew members also shared excitement about visiting Nagaland.
