DIMAPUR, AUGUST 25: Bhandari is the most potential constituency in terms of mineral resources in Nagaland and also the most crucial constituency in terms of connectivity owing to unresolved border issue. This was stated by Achumbemo Kikon, Convenor of Legal Cell NPF, to media persons on Thursday at the consultative meeting cum get-together of 40 Bhandari Assembly Constituency at Agri Expo Dimapur.
Regarded as the most backward constituency, Kikon remarked that the DUDA fund was not sufficient for the constituency as the region is vast in terms of landmarks.
“The past leaders have done their best but there have been no leaders to represent sufficiently,” stated Kikon. He also maintained that 40 Bhandari Assembly Constituency’s population is full of regional passion and there is no political party in Nagaland that could match with the NPF.
Expressing optimism that the NPF government will come back to power, Kikon maintained that he has garnered support of former candidates. While reaffirming his leadership through this gathering, the intending leader accentuated that with 80 villages in 40 Bhandari Assembly constituency, about 20 villages are yet to be connected through roads and expressed that his priority will be on road connectivity and education.
Kikon articulated that with Bhandari situated in the belt of border conflict, the foothill road would endow complete economic improvement with less border conflict in the region.
Stating that Naga political issue is a concern for the Naga, he opined that Nagas should come together instead of pointing fingers at each other and settle the issue especially with Government of India. The intending leader later acknowledged that the gathering was an assertion of reaffirming his leadership.
