Bhaichung Bhutia to attend WSSA silver jubilee closing ceremony

DIMAPUR — The closing ceremony of the silver jubilee celebrations of the Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA), to be held on February 29, will be attended by Bhaichung Bhutia, former captain of the Indian football team and advisor to the WSSA, along with Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor for Industries and Commerce, as guest of honour.

According to a press release, Bhutia and Renedy Singh, also a former captain of the Indian football team and assistant coach of the Indian Super League club Bengaluru, are currently advisors for the WSSA.

Meanwhile, in a football tournament organised by the WSSA, the first semi-final match saw HASSA defeat Shokhuvi (Aqahuto) with a score of 2-1. In the second semi-final, Kuhoxu (Niuland) secured a victory against Pimla (Aqahuto) with a score of 1-0. The finalists for the tournament are HASSA and Kuhoxu (Niuland).

The release also mentioned that in the men’s volleyball semi-finals, Kikheyi (Aghunaqa) will face Ghoshito (Aghunaqa), and Yeveto (Niuland) will compete against Thahekhu Unit.
