BGIS 2023: Krafton unveils exciting tournament with INR 2 crore prize pool
Krafton, the South Korean video game developer, made an exciting announcement about the upcoming Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023. In this tournament, thousands of teams will compete for a massive prize pool of INR 2 crore.
The BGIS 2023 will kick off with the streaming of the event on July 20 and will go on until October 14, 2023. The tournament will have two phases – the online qualifiers and the offline grand finals. The grand finals will be held on-ground from October 12 to 14, and fans will have the opportunity to attend the event in person, which adds to the excitement.
Krafton‘s India CEO, Sean Hyunil Sohn, expressed their commitment to providing new and innovative gaming events for the community. He believes that BGIS 2023 is just the beginning of a flourishing gaming community in India.
The event is also striving to cater to local players and fans by broadcasting the Grand Finals in 10 languages, including English, Hindi, and eight other regional languages, ensuring that people from all corners of the country can enjoy the excitement.
The series will commence with “The Grind,” where 256 invited teams will fiercely compete to secure their position among the top 64 teams advancing to Round 2 and Round 3 of the tournament. This will determine which teams, along with players from In-Game Qualifiers, will get the chance to compete in the main event.
For those interested in participating, the registrations for the BGIS series will be open from July 24 to August 2, followed by verifications from August 3 to August 9. Once verified, the teams will face intense in-game qualifiers with 15 classic matches from August 10 to August 17, and their top 10 match scores will determine their rankings in the tournament.
