Bengaluru returnees reach their home districts

1 Returnees from Bangalor reach Zunheboto

A total of 14 stranded people from Pfutsero division, who arrived from Bangalore by train on June 5, have been kept under quarantine at Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyala, Lewoza, Zuketsa, PO Pfutsero. Another seven returnees from other states are at Nazareth School Quarantine centre, Pfutsero.

Mesulo Khalo, Convenor of Ward Chairman Union, Pfutsero town, informed Eastern Mirror that 42 persons from government quarantine facilities were discharged on June 5; out of those, 11 persons are in their respective colony quarantine centres in Pfutsero town, while the rest were sent to their respective villages.

Pfutsero town public leaders had earlier notified that returnees will have to be compulsorily quarantined at their respective colony quarantine centres for 14 days after spending equal number of days at government quarantine facilities.

Khalo informed that around 80-90 beds have been prepared from the 11 wards of Pfutsero town. He said that they have visited the colonies where returnees are undergoing quarantine, and “they are well maintained”.

He went on to say that till date, various churches in Pfutsero are taking turns and looking after food preparation for people in quarantine centres.

2 Returnees from Bangalore reach Tuensang

Longleng receives 112 returnees

A total of 112 returnees, including drivers have been quarantined at seven quarantine centres in Longleng till today June 6, informed an update from DPRO, Longleng on Saturday.

“The seven quarantine centres name Lempong Schools, RUSA Boys hostel Yingli College, Yingli College, Girls hostel (UGC) Yingli College, Girls hostel (Duda) Yingli College, Shamakok School (for drivers) and industries staff quarter (for medical personnel) have a total capacity of 207 bed-wise,” according to the update.

Out of the 112 returnees, including 12 drives and 60 returnees from Bengaluru, were received on Saturdau at Yingli College, Longleng, while 14 returnees were sent for home quarantine on the same day after completion of 14 days at quarantine centre and other necessary medical investigations and testing was done for Covid-19, the updated added.

Out of 47 samples sent for testing in Kohima, 28 were reported negative while 19 are still awaited, it was informed.

‘At present, 98 returnees including drivers are quarantined in six existing quarantine centres in Longleng: Lempong Schools – 9, RUSA Boys hostel Yingli College – 20, Yingli College – 40, Girls hostel (UGC) Yingli College – 15, Girls hostel (Duda) Yingli College – 7, and Shamakok School (for Drivers) – 7,’ said the report.

Returnees arrive at Zunheboto

Zunheboto district received 166 returnees from Bengaluru, who came in seven buses from Dimapur, June 6. On arrival, they were segregated according to gender before taking them to their respective quarantine centres, informed an update from DIPR.

Out of the 166 returnees, 35 females were quarantined at the Zunheboto Cultural Hall while the rest were quarantined at Government Higher Secondary School (49), Town Hall (52) and Zunheboto Government College (30).

56 returnees from Kiphire

An update from DPRO Kiphire informed that three Nagaland State Transport buses carrying from Dimapur 56 Bengaluru returnees — 39 male and 17 female — reached Kiphire on June 6.

They were taken to Helipad ground Kiphire for thermal screening, and were received by the district administration, police, medical department, organisations and Baptist pastors.

President of YTC in his short speech urged all the returnees to follow all the guidelines that were been given to them while staying at the facility quarantine and to co-operate with all the workers in the facility, informed the update.

After registration and screening, all the returnees were taken to the quarantine centre in Zisaji Presidency College, where they will spend 14 days.

Jalukie receive 99 returnees

Five buses from Dimapur carrying 99 Bengaluru returnees were received by the district administration of Peren along with medical staff, police personnel, DPRO staff, JAC members and Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship, Jalukie town at the reception centre set up at GHSS ground, Jalukie, on June 5.

An update from DPRO Peren informed that Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship, Jalukie town organised a short programme on their arrival. Industries and Commerce Inspector Alum Zeliang briefed the returnees on dos and don’ts at the quarantine centre.

The returnees then underwent thermal screening, while the district administration and BBBP team distributed food packs and gift packages. Thereafter, the returnees were segregated, where 64 male returnees were escorted to GHSS Chapel Hall and St. Xavier College Auditorium Hall quarantine centre and 35 female to GHSS facility quarantine centre, the update informed.

85 returnees from Tuensang

A total of 85 returnees from Bengaluru reached Tuensang in four buses on June 6 and they were screened at Sao Chang College quarantine centre on arrival, informed an update from DPRO Tuensang.

“Till now a total of 17 returnees are at Chare quarantine facility, three at CBLT office, 58 at ITI Tuensang, 178 at Sao Chang College and six at St John higher secondary school QC. As of 6th June 2020 a total of 262 returnees are there in quarantine facilities at Tuensang,” the update informed.
