Dimapur, February 13

The Reds are away from home…A big test awaits them this Saturday!
Defending Champions Bengaluru FC will play host to Lajong in a Hero I-League encounter at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru at 7:00pm on 14th February, Saturday evening. The Lajong faithfuls can witness the Clash Live courtesy a Ten Action broadcast at 7pm.Lajong are coming into the game after a two week break. In the previous fixture, the team suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to East Bengal in Kolkata which was played on the 1st of February this month.
The Reds from the North East have been up to the mark up front as compared to their shaky defence line. They have managed to score goals in all their four matches so far irrespective of the result.
Head Coach Thangboi Singto spoke to the Lajong Media and said that playing against the defending champions will be tough for any team in the I-league as they are a very strong side with a good squad. According to the Coach, The Reds have become much fitter and well organised as the break really helped them to work in areas where they needed maximum improvement.
“All players need to do their job well on the field in order to get positive results”.
“We are yet to win an away match. It is important that the boys come out and play good football and register their first away win”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Southern based outfit also didn’t quite enjoy a good start to the I-league campaign this season but overcome it all as they managed to grab their first three full points at home soil when they took on Bharat FC in their previous fixture.
Interestingly their star players; Sunil Chhetri, Sean Rooney and Robin Singh have not found their goal scoring touch and are yet to score for their side. Westwood will be expecting a much improved performance from them.
Lajong are yet to field the fourth foreigner this season but will welcome back defender Jibon Singh into the squad who was recently signed with the Reds for this season. He will add experience to the defence line along with Aiborlang and Robin at the back. Penn Orji, Uilliams and Cornell Glen will most likely start for the Reds against Bengaluru FC and Boithang Haokip is also expected to be fit for the encounter.
Come the 14th of February, The Reds will look to light up the Kanteerava Stadium when they take on Bengaluru FC and deliver a Power Solid Performance.
It will certainly be a tight contest where three points are out for grabs and both sides will surely put up a big fight.
