Dimapur, Jan. 21 (EMN): An office for the Dimapur Bengali Students’ Union (DBSU) has been inaugurated. Former member of the Dimapur Municipal Council Lipok Pongen inaugurated the office at the Millennium Market in Dimapur, updates on Sun. informed.
“Congratulating the union for establishing an office, Pongen said that the union has done much to unite the students of the Bengali community and acknowledged the union’s effort to work for the betterment of the society,” the updates said.
The DBSU’s advisor Bishnu Bhattacharjee, who was stated to have spoken during the program, called the event ‘a historic and red letter day for the union and Bengali community in the state.’ He encouraged the students to continue working for the uplift of the union and the community, the updates informed .
Formed in February 2016, the office is the first one for the two-year old union, it was informed.
