Be prepared for indefinite shutter-down, PDCCI tells members
DIMAPUR — Extending full support to the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), the Phek District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PDCCI) has requested all its members to be prepared for the indefinite shutter-down starting from April 27, if the government failed to heed to the demand of the DCCI.
In a press release, the PDCCI claimed that for the past few days Phek district witnessed “waves of extortion” where business members were intimidated to pay cash through phones (online-transfer) as well as multiple taxation through demand letters.
It asserted that the trade body will strongly stand its ground against extortion, harassment and multiple taxation imposed upon the business community in the district.
Requesting all right thinking citizens and civil society organisations to stand in solidarity with the DCCI and the business community of Nagaland at large, the PDCCI further said that it shall, in toto, cooperate with the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) in the event of an all Nagaland shutter-down.
