BASN to present Miss Nagaland 2022 on December 9

Kohima, Nov. 30 (EMN): The 33rd edition of the annual Miss Nagaland with theme “Grace and Beauty- The Woman In You,” will be presented by Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) from 5:30 pm onwards on Dec. 9 at Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima.
The announcement was made by Mele Pucho, president of BASN during a press conference on Wednesday in Kohima.
He informed that altogether 13 top contestants from 8 districts of the state namely Kohima, Dimapur, Mokokchung, Phek, Zunheboto, Peren, Niuland and Tsemenyu. The two newly formed districts (Niuland and Tsemenyu) will be sending their representatives for the first time to vie for the coveted Miss Nagaland 2022 title.
Along with gift hampers, a cash award of INR 1,00,000 for the winner, INR 70,000 for first runner-up and INR 50,000 for second runner-up have been set aside for the prizes.
Besides other opportunities, the title winners will be tied up to government departments to be their ambassadors for different purposes.
The subtitles include Miss Talent, Miss Photogenic, Queen of Hearts, Miss Perfect 10, Miss Multimedia and Miss Beautiful Smile where each winner will receive INR 10,000 along with gift hampers worth INR 10,000.
The judges for the beauty pageant are Irene Dkhar from Meghalaya who was crowned Miss Northeast 2022 in Kohima recently and fellow runner-up Eshanee Hatimuria from Assam, among others.
The pageant is being powered by Nagaland Tourism and Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) and supported by Nagaland State Election Commission.
The event partners are Beauty Barn, Symphony, Drift Basket, Chiizho Home Designs, De’ Oriental Fitness, Kekhro Smile Foundation, The Khriezos, Knock and Wrap, Zenki Organic, Alem Ozukum and Hornbill Tandoor.
The tickets for the event have been priced at INR 500 and INR 200 which are made available at Symphony Cafe in Kohima and the same will be obtainable at the venue during the show.
Miss Nagaland has been organised as part of the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland over the years.
