Kohima, Nov. 3 (EMN): Baptist High Kohima celebrated its cultural day on November 1 at Mission Compound ground in which students from nursery to higher secondary participated at variety of mixed cultural and traditional event.
On the occasion, the school principal Keviseto Isrial expressed that coming together of students and presenting cultural dances and folk songs showed the unity in diversity of the school. ‘It also depicts that we accept and respect one another,’ he remarked.
Isrial added that cultural day is celebrated once in three years adding it required leadership of teachers and trainers for bringing together such a presentation. He lauded them for the success of the programme.
At the cultural day programme, Angami folk song was presented by students of nursery and Classes A and B, while the drama was presented by students of Class XII. Zeliang folk song was presented by students of Classes 1, II and III, while Nepali dance was presented by students of Classes II and III. The Chakhesang folk song was presented by students of Class V, while the Lotha folk dance was presented by students of Class IV.
Cultural ramp walk was presented by students of higher secondary, while the Rongmei folk dance was presented by students of Class VII. Angami folk song was presented by students of Class VIII, while Sumi folk dance was presented by students of Class IX and higher secondary boys. Sangtam folk tune was presented by students of Class VI, and traditional games were presented by students of Class X and war competition.
