Baptist College organises workshop on soft skills

DIMAPUR — A one-day workshop “Mastering tomorrow: a student-focused soft skills workshop,” was organised by the Department of English, Baptist College Kohima, on February 13, with Theyievino Whiso, MD and training lead of Nagaland Institute of Language Studies and Research (NILSR), Kohima as the resource person.

The workshop was conducted in two sessions accommodating the second semester and sixth semester students of English department, the college stated in an update.

In the first session, the resource person focussed on the concept of soft skills with adaptability as the key point and the practice of ‘deliberate calm.’ The first session concluded with an activity on team work.

In the second session, the speaker focused on the importance of language skills. The session ended with an activity focused on decision making skills and interaction skill, and the importance of small talk in developing speaking skills.  Both the sessions had interaction time.

Earlier, the programme commenced with a welcome note by Dr. Tsenbeni, HoD, Department of English and a prayer by Dr. Enünü Sale, assistant professor, Department of English.

The workshop concluded with a note of gratitude by Asola C Jamir, assistant professor, Department of English.
