Bank of Maharashtra opens branch office in Kohima

Dimapur, Dec. 28 (EMN): Bank of Maharashtra (BOM), one of the major public sector banks in India, opened its Kohima branch office near Hyundai showroom at New Secretariat road on December 23 with the advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, as the special guest.

Speaking at the launch of new BOM branch office, Kire requested all the BOM staff to be public-friendly as he observed that employees in some banks are rude to the customers, an update from the bank stated.

Delivering the welcome address, the Kohima branch manager Eugene O'Hara Lotha informed that BOM is a major public sector bank in India which was founded 85 years ago with a tag line 'One family one bank'.

Lotha informed that the government of India holds 82% of the share adding that BOM so far has 16 million customers with 1859 branches in India.
He also informed that it is the 5th performing and leading bank among the nationalised bank in India. He added that Kohima branch office is the 49th under Kolkata zone and the second in Nagaland.

The programme was chaired by Walter Yanthan, while Rev. Fr. Richard Fernandes, parish priest of St. Francis De Sales Church, Kohima, dedicated the new BOM branch. The vote of thanks was delivered by Thohrü Ashulü Poji, BOM deputy branch manager, while Viluo Angami, assistant pastor of CR Mission Church, Kohima, pronounced the benediction.
