BAN to hold International trade Expo

Dimapur, March 19 (EMN): To promote local entrepreneurs and facilitate business friendly environment in Nagaland, Business Association of Nagas (BAN) decided to organise the ‘Nagaland International Trade Expo.’

The decision to this effect was taken during its third general council meeting held on March 17 at Elim Hall, DABA, Dimapur, which was graced by Asangba Chuba Ao, Commissioner of Taxes, Government of Nagaland, as the honoured guest.

The invocation prayer was pronounced by Rev. Lunen Jamir, while the meeting was chaired by Dr. Lanusagla Tsudir and Dr. Yan Muru as secretary. BAN Chairman, Thungbemo Murry delivered the welcome address and the presidential address, while BAN activities were presented the general secretary Dr. Khekugha Muru and the vote of thanks was presented by Vitho Zao.

The honoured guest, in his address, exhorted the gathering that GST will create a level playing field for all and stressed that without the knowledge of GST the business will be closed down. He said the department will ensure that no one will be left behind in educating about GST which is likely to be implement from July 1.

In the business hour, the house deliberated on various issues faced by the Naga entrepreneurs and business community at large. The house approved the budget for financial year 2017-18. The house further approved to explore the feasibility to organise “Nagaland International Trade Expo” to promote local entrepreneurs and facilitate business friendly environment in Nagaland.

The house further reaffirmed it earlier resolution that Naga entrepreneurs will not pay any form of taxation to NPGs until “One Government one taxation” is achieved as resolved by Naga public in October 31, 2013. The house further resolved that NPGs should not harass Naga entrepreneurs having BAN certificate for any form of taxation.
