DIMAPUR — National president of Mulnivasi Sangh, Dr. Nayanala Krishna Rao, and the media in-charge, Bahupati Parmesh, held a meeting with the president of Nagaland Indigenous People’s Forum (NIPF), Dr. T Lima Jamir, and the general secretary, Richard Haolai, on March 11 in Dimapur.
An update from NIPF informed that Mulnivasi Sangh is a branch of Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation (BAMCEF), which was founded in 1971 as a non-political, non-religious, non-profit and non-agitating organisation. Mulnivasi means “Native of the land.”
It stated that the main purpose of the meeting was to discuss on the unity of the native people of India who are known as Adivasi or tribals and are divided into Scheduled Tribe(ST), Scheduled Caste (SC) and Other Backward Class (OBC). The meeting also focused on a casteless society in India where every citizen is equal.
