The 2023 BAFTA Games Awards nominees have been unveiled and the ceremony is set to happen on March 30. In total, 18 categories will be recognized, such as Best Game, Animation, Artistic Achievement, Game Design, and Multiplayer. The festivities will be broadcast on Twitch, giving recognition to the various aspects of video game development.
Leading the charge with a record-breaking 14 nominations is God of War Ragnarok. The game is recognised in several categories, including Best Game and Game of the Year. Its actors Sunny Suljic and Christopher Judge are also up for the award for Best Performer in a Leading Role.

Two other notable contenders for Best Game are Elden Ring with eight nominations and Stray with nine nominations. Cult of the Lamb, Marvel Snap, and Vampire Survivors are also in the running for the same title. Horizon Forbidden West, with six nominations, is in contention for awards in Animation, Audio Achievement, and The EE Game of the Year award, the only category decided by the public's vote.
Beyond the frontrunners, other titles have also gained nominations. A Plague Tale: Requiem and Horizon Forbidden West both received five nods, while Immortality, Tunic, and Vampire Survivors are each nominated in five categories. Indies like Citizen Sleeper have also been recognized.
Additionally, Christopher Judge is nominated for the Performer in a Leading Role award for his portrayal of Kratos in God of War Ragnarok. Alison Jaye, who played Alva in Horizon Forbidden West, also received recognition.
