Badminton tournament for girls and women underway

Dimapur, Feb. 11 (EMN): Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Beti Khelao badminton tournament for girls and women kick started in Mokokchung on February 11. The event is being organised by the district administration and DLCW-MSK (BBBP) Mokokchung district and co-hosted by Mokokchung District Badminton Association, a DIPR update informed.

It said that the tournament is scheduled to be held on Feb. 11 and 12 at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, Mokokchung in three categories –under 11 years, under 15 years and open category.

Special guest in the opening programme, Dharam Raj, SDO (C), Mokokchung spoke on the importance of the BBBP and its initiatives and programmes for the development of the girl child in the country. He encouraged every girl child to take active interest in sports for their physical development.
