Mokokchung, Feb. 10 (EMN): A badminton stadium constructed under Operation Sadhavana Project was inaugurated by Colonel Raj Kumar, 23 Assam Rifles Mokokchung at Sungratsu village some, 15 kilometres away from Mokokchung town on Wednesday.
The stadium was dedicated by I Kilen Longchar, Pastor of Sungratsu Baptist Church in the presence of village council members, Sungratsu Students’ Union and others.
The colonel in his speech said that Assam Rifles is ‘totally committed for making Nagaland a better place and a better future for the youths’. He also expressed hope that through these facilities the young talents would channelise their energy for a better purpose.
The much needed badminton stadium was constructed during 2018-19 with a project cost of more than 20 lakhs, where the military held the lion share and contributions from Village Council Sungarstu, Officers Forum Sungratsu and Sungratsu Students’ Union.
