AYO withdraws support to warring Naga factions

THE Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) in a press statement said it is constrained to withdraw its solidarity and support to all the erring Naga Political Groups in the backdrop of unabated violent terror attacks in civilian areas despite its repeated pleas to the warring factions.The AYO President Medo Yhokha and Gen Secy Rokoketou Sechu condemned the unabated violence amongst the Naga National workers and the factional shoot out in the state capital on September 4 and 5.
The incidents in broad daylight was despicable and pushed the emotions of the public to the extreme. The release also said “as a mandated organization of a community to a gifted territorial jurisdiction, with embraced societal vision and obligation for promoting peace, harmony, bridging unity and understanding for all citizens, AYO will unreservedly continue to be an agent and channel to co-work with anyone that respects the sanctity of life, honour the voice of the majority and ushers peace, societal progression and human advancement.”
AYO stated ‘public sanctity and conscience of morality as its core guide, and the organization not cow down to any agency that overrides the voice of the public, endangers the lives and well being of other fellow Nagas’
The release ends with AYO stating that at any given time it will be honoured if called upon to be a channel that could bridge the warring factions to come together for the Peace of the Nagas.
