Dimapur, July 19 (EMN): Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) initiated a field day work at the landslide area in Kiruphema village on NH 29 (AH-1) and expressed immense concern which has taken heavy toll for the past two months. AYO has appreciated the yeoman service rendered by Kiruphema village in mitigating and assisting the travellers by way of walking the extra mile in providing traffic, reparation of drainages, road surface, traffic assistance etc. Stating that not a single rupee was contributed by the State government till date towards the endless efforts of the village volunteers, AYO was appalled by the inactivity and lack of concern by the concerned department and minister who even refused audience to the villagers. It was amazed that a matter of this magnanimity was ignored and turned a blind eye to.
It pointed out that the road between Kiruphema to Tsiesema is in pathetic condition and the bridge on the verge of collapse. It expressed apprehension that in such an event, Kohima will be cut off completely.
Meanwhile, AYO president Neinguvoto Krose and the general secretary Kekhrie Pfiikha have appealed the public to cooperate with the village traffic volunteers detailed to work on the spots both on the highway as well as the diverted route. All travellers are advised to strictly adhere to traffic rules as directed by the volunteers.
It further solicited financial assistance from any concerned citizen to contribute towards the effort provided by Kiruphema Youth Organisation. In the event of any accident which might occurred on the pathetic condition of the route, AYO warned that the State government and the concerned department will be held accountable and responsible.
