KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 6 : A leader of the Angami Public Organisation (APO) on Saturday implored youths of the Angami community to take the lead in the effort to create a better future for the coming generation. Speaking at the valedictory function of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the AYO at Kigwema village, the APO’s president Dr. Vilhusa Seleyi urged the youth leaders to provide leadership in confronting issues confronting the generation. Of the many challenges he placed before the youth leaders, the APO president reminded the organization of their role in promoting friendly relations with neighbours.

Recalling the efforts of some Angami leaders who, during their time, had given their best to bring the Naga people together, the APO president echoed the words of Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Neiphiu Rio in advising the youths not to involve in activities that would spoil the image of the Angami community.
“With this celebration, let us also take a pledge to hold the pride of the Angamis. That is, by not spoiling the image of the Angamis. Let us also take the pledge to protect our environment,” Dr. Vilhusa said.
The APO president also lauded the AYO for their continuous effort to curb antisocial elements within the jurisdiction of the community. The AYO leaders must renew their pledge to fight against the antisocial, he said.
