SECHÜ ZUBZA, AUGUST 27: As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations scheduled in November this year, the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) organised a seminar today at WAPO Hall, Sechü Zubza. The one-day seminar, on the topic economy, was hosted by the Western Angami Youth Organization (WAYO). The AYO, in commemoration of its 25th anniversary celebrations, will also be organising similar seminars on the topics ‘Education, environment’ at the other Angami regions including Northern Angami and Southern Angami areas on September 10 and 24 respectively. The first seminar on ‘Ethos’ was held on August 20 at Niathu Resort, Dimapur, hosted by Chakhroma Youth Organization. The resource persons for today’s seminar were Rovi Chasie, entrepreneur; Richard Belho, architect; and Kesao Kesiezie, businessman; while the panelists were Khris Kire, businessman; Neivikuolie Khatsü, social activist; and Dr. Vilar Solo, entrepreneur. In his lecture, Richard Belho stressed on the need for not only providing opportunities and platform to educated unemployed youth but to the drop outs. To this, he suggested that the student and youth bodies should come out with proper planning for drop-outs in order to guide them towards a brighter future. Belho, who also serves as the chairman of Zynorig Initiative Society, Training in Building Construction and Livelihood Sector, advised the youth on the importance of honesty, reliability and sincerity, if at all, they wish to make a career in the business sector.“At the end, it’s not the capital you invest, but your character which decides your future in the business world,” he said. Another resource person, Kesao Kesie, proprietor of United Traders, Kohima, shared the importance of building up a good relationship with the customers. He observed that many Nagas lack essential character and that in itself makes them a failure in sustaining their business establishment. With the market becoming so competitive, he also advised the upcoming generations to strive hard with perseverance until they are able to establish themselves as successful businesspersons. Rovi Chasie, who runs a livelihood enhancement centre, advised the aspiring entrepreneurs to establish their business careers with a positive mind aiming at the top. She reasoned that many Nagas fail to establish themselves in the business sector only because they aim for quick profit. The presentation from the resource persons was followed by discussion with the participation of the panelists and the participants. The programme commenced with invocation pronounced by Neivilhou Kuotsu, associate pastor of Sechü Zubza Baptist Church, while the keynote address was delivered by Prasielie Pienyü, co-convenor of organizing committee, AYO 25th anniversary celebrations. A song was presented by Tsino Viya, and the vote of thanks was tendered by Neizolie Rüpreo, finance secretary, AYO. Members from Angami Sports Association, Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho, Western Angami Public Organization, Western Angami Sports Association and Western Angami Students Union also attended the seminar. The next AYO seminar on the topic ‘Education’ is scheduled on September 10 at Meriema village, to be hosted by the Northern Angami Youth Organization.
