Dimapur, Nov. 1 (EMN): The All Ward Union Mokokchung (AWUM) has expressed sadness at the recent daylight robbery at Mokokchung town and demanded the law enforcing agencies to book those unknown miscreants who raided a shop and took away some blankets at culprits at the earliest to avoid further incidents.
The AWUM president, R. Ayim Longkumer and general secretary, Lanumeren, in a letter to the Mokokchung DC, said that the citizens of Mokokchung town are known for their love for peace and tranquility and “the threat to its existence by any force was dealt accordingly”.
Saying that the citizens of Mokokchung still stand firm and united to counter any unwanted eventuality, the union said that the recent daylight robbery in the town is a ‘rare incident which is foreign to the citizens of Mokokchung town’.
It said that the incident should be an eye-opener for all to remain extra vigilant.The union, while demanding the law enforcing agencies to nab the culprits at the earliest, at the nsame time assured full cooperation to the Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI).
On Oct. 31, it is reported that some unknown armed miscreants raided a shop in the town and took away ten blankets. MCCI has threatened to go for an indefinite closure of shops if the miscreants are not nabbed within the next 48 hours.
