DIMAPUR — Regional Ayurveda Research Centre (RARC), Dimapur, under Central Council for Research in Ayurveda Science, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, in collaboration with St. Joseph University, observed the 8th Ayurveda Day on November 6 on the theme “Ayurveda for one health.”
An update from RARC Dimapur stated that the programme was organised to create awareness about Ayurveda for the welfare of mankind.
In his keynote address, Dr. Vilas Gangurde, research officer and in-charge of RARC, Dimapur, spoke on the importance of Ayurveda for better health in today’s stressed life and highlighted the benefits of including Ayurveda in everyday life.
Dr. Deepak Rahangdale, research officer (Ay) at RARC, Dimapur, enlightened the participants about the meaning of health and the wonders of Satvik diet for a healthy life. He further sensitised the participants to live a healthy lifestyle and how Ayurveda creates a holistic approach towards a peaceful mind, soul and good health.
It stated that the university vice chancellor, Prof. Dr. D Gnanadurai, inaugurated the ‘Herbal Garden’ in the college premises.
It added that a mini expo on CCRAS publications, millets and millet products commemorating ‘International Year of Millets 2023’ were arranged.
To celebrate the day, slogan and painting competitions were conducted, where trophies and certificates were presented to the winners.
Report further stated that more than 100 students and faculty from various Science departments of the university and students from St. Joseph Global School have actively participated in the event.
