Awareness on ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan’ held in Longleng

Dimapur, Aug. 4 (EMN): A one-day awareness programme on “Jal Shakti Abhiyan” was held at Yingli Government College, Longleng, on August 3.

During the programme senior scientist and head of KVK, Longleng, Dr. KL Meena, spoke on Jal Shakti Abhiyan (water conservation campaign), which was launched by Jal Shakti Ministry on July 1 for creating awareness among all stakeholders including farmers on water conservation and rain water harvesting.

Importance of water conservation and its impact on future generation was delivered by Dr. Lily Ngullie, ACTO, KVK Longleng, while a brief report on water conservation techniques at farmers field initiated by KVK Longleng was delivered by A Namei, SRF.

Dr. Abdul Rehman, HOD department of History, delivered the concluding remarks. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Yuimi, technical officer. Altogether, 120 students and teaching faculty attended the programme.
