DIMAPUR — Medical officer of Pungro community health centre (CHC), Dr. Weri Mero, conducted training and awareness on dental hygiene for community leaders, school teachers, healthcare workers, Sunday school teachers and Anganwadi workers under Pungro block in Kiphire district from September 1 to the 10th.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Kiphire, stated that Dr. Mero imparted training and sensitised the community leaders, teachers, healthcare workers and Anganwadi workers on the basics and importance of oral hygiene. He also emphasised on the importance of timely visitation to a dentist for good oral hygiene and ill effects of tobacco consumption for oral health.
He further encouraged the participants to disseminate what they have learned with others. Report also stated that Dr. Mero had also organised oral health camps in villages like Jessami under Manipur, which was highly appreciated by the villagers.
