Dimapur, Feb. 12 (EMN): The State Land Use Board (SLUB) Soil & Water Conservation department conducted an awareness campaign on land use and management at its directorate’s conference hall. The department updated about the programme on Mon.
Sharing his working experiences with the SLUB, Director SN Singh emphasised on judicious use of land and water resources as the per capita availability of these resources is declining due to increasing population and limited natural resources.
Singh also stressed on scientific land use planning and its management with specific consideration to maintain and improve the present land use system so as to achieve food security in the state.
A presentation on land resource management for self sustainable and climate resilient hill farming was given by Joint Director Dr. Kiyasetuo Vizo.
Senior officers also shared their experiences and encouraged the upcoming officers on researching on the topic and disseminating the same to the farming community.
